Vivian Mies

Vivian Catherine "Paddy" Mies, 71, of Cambridge, formerly of Shoreview passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at her home.
She was born January 19, 1935 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Dean and Florence (Swanson) Alton. She grew up in and around St. Paul.
In 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Mies at St. Johns Catholic Church in Little Canada. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide at the Lakeridge Nursing Home in Roseville and was also a cook at the Alterra Nursing Home in North Oaks. She retired in 2002 and three years ago Robert and Vivian moved to Cambridge near their daughter.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents Dean and Florence Alton, and brother Ralph Alton.
She is survived by her husband Robert of Cambridge, sons Nick and wife Janet Mies of Wyoming, Chuck Mies of Stacy, Lee and wife Liz Mies of Ham Lake, daughter Paula and husband Harry Pittman of Cambridge, seven grandchildren Tina Nelson, Sean Mies, Blake Nelson, J.R. Mies, Kjirsten Mies, Sloan Pittman, Vaala Pittman, great granddaughter Mariah, and other relatives and friends. "We will sure miss our little spitfire".
