Vance G. Leak

Vance Gerald Leak, 84, of St. Paul passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at his home.

            He was born November 13, 1936 in Worthington, Minnesota to Clifford and Luella (Weinandt) Leak.  He graduated high school and went on to earn a Bachelors Degree.  He worked at the Bureau of Mines where he met Ardell Jacobson in 1965.

            Vance and Ardell were married on August 25, 1967 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in South Minneapolis.  They made their home in the Longfellow neighborhood of South Minneapolis and raised their three children.  Vance also worked at the Natural Resource Research Institute through the University of Minnesota Duluth.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ardell in November 2018, and sister Valerie Leak.  Vance is survived by his children Varina Leak of Minneapolis, Vanessa Leak of Chaska, Vandell Leak of Charleston, SC, granddaughter Ashley Rasche, sister Virginia (Wayne) Potratz of Minneapolis, niece Kyza Potratz, nephew Ahren Potratz, aunt Betty Tillia, other family and friends.

            Vance was laid to rest next to Ardell in Dalbo Baptist Cemetery on Friday, September 17, 2021.
