Tracy Luvern (Gerdin) Walfoort

Tracy L. Walfoort, age 64, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, Christmas Day, 2024.  

Born in Braham, MN to Karl Vernon and Marjorie Gerdin, she grew up on the family dairy farm in Maple Ridge Township. She graduated in 1978 from Braham High School. Tracy moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where she was the University of Alaska food service director.  She married Michael Williams and together they had daughter, Micaela and sons Patrick and Karl. Tracy moved back to Minnesota with her sons in 1989. In 1993, she married Terrance (Terry) Walfoort Jr. and they had a daughter, Julia.

Tracy retired in 2019, after working 27 years as a Courier for FedEx Express. Her faith in Christ was the foundation for her kind, loving, generous spirit. It inspired her to share her love of Jesus in many ways with anyone who knew her. Tracy had many talents she willingly shared. Her favorite activities included gardening, horseback riding, fishing, camping, cooking, painting, traveling, decorating, teaching Sunday School, and spending time with friends and family. She had a wonderful ability to transform the ordinary into something beautiful. Tracy worked tirelessly to make everything she did better for the many people she lovingly served.  She was greatly involved in many aspects of ministry at Stanchfield Baptist, from Sunday School to church decorating. Tracy was a superb cook and along with her sister, Heidi, she catered numerous weddings, funerals, and anniversaries. She was well loved and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by husband, Terry; sons, Patrick, Karl and Shawn (Ashley); daughters, Julia (Brandon) and Jaimi; granddaughter, Ayla; siblings, Heidi (Barry), Jay, Joey (Gary), Margo (Ki), Chip, David (Karie); numerous in laws and a multitude of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Marjorie; daughter, Micaela and sisters, Kari and Sharon.

Visitation will be from 10-11am on Saturday, January 4th at Stanchfield Baptist Church. Memorial service at 11am. Meal and fellowship to follow.  In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Stanchfield Baptist Church or Family Pathways Domestic Violence program.
