Steven M. Fuhol, 67, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital.
He was born on August 31, 1956, entered the world at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Wladimir and Anna Fuhol. He was baptized at North Isanti Baptist Church. Growing up on the family farm east of Cambridge, he learned the values of hard work and dedication from an early age.
Steven attended Cambridge High School, where he graduated in 1975. Following his graduation, he answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his time in the Marines, he served as a radar operator, while also discovering his passion for bodybuilding and automotive bodywork.
His dedication to bodybuilding led to notable achievements, including earning Mr. Minnesota runner-up twice in the early 1980s. After his honorable discharge from the Marines, Steven returned to Minnesota, where he was blessed with a son, Travis Fuhol.
For 38 years, Steven dedicated himself to Hoffman Engineering in Anoka, MN, where he forged a reputation as an exemplary employee and valued team member. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for his family and his hobbies.
Outside of work, Steven found joy in working on cars, tending to his 40-acre property, spending time with his beloved dogs, and cheering on the local Bluejacket sports teams. He was known for his keen interest in financial matters and cherished moments spent with friends and family. He was always known as someone who would show up to your house and offer you some type of gift.
In recent years, Steven fully embraced his role as a grandfather, regularly visiting his grandchildren Oliver and Odin and showering them with affection. During his visits, he would offer treats, share wisdom, and delight in their playtime activities. Lately, he took pleasure in watching them play catch in the backyard and ride four-wheelers at his home.
Steven was not only a devoted father, father in-law and grandfather but also a pillar of strength and wisdom for his family. His guidance and boundless love will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and lessons will endure, continuing to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his son Travis (Jennifer) Fuhol of Cambridge, two grandsons Oliver and Odin Fuhol, mother Anna Fuhol of Cambridge, siblings Maria Simone of St. Petersburg, FL, Wally Jr. (Tammy) Fuhol of Stanchfield, Eda Fuhol of Cambridge, Jim Fuhol of Cambridge, Larry Fuhol of Isanti, Nick (Joy) Fuhol of Cambridge, Don Fuhol of Cambridge, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
