Shirley Ann Davis, age 76 of Stacy, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on May 28, 2024.
She was born March 1, 1948 to Lawrence and Ethel Onasch in Minneapolis. Shirley lived in Minneapolis for about a year and then moved with her family to the Johnson farm in Linwood Township. She attended school in Forest Lake, graduating in 1966. After high-school, she started her nursing career by attending a three-year program at Methodist Hospital. Shortly after receiving her nursing degree, she married Patrick Davis on August 9, 1969 and resided in Linwood Township where she raised their two children; Tim and Tracy.
Shirley worked many years at the Cambridge State Hospital and in the Minnesota State prison system as a nursing supervisor. She continued her education by obtaining her MBA in 1995. After many years of tireless and caring work, she retired from the Cambridge State Hospital.
During retirement, she plunged herself into her family history, discovering new family relations and reconnecting with them. Shirley spent many “good times” with her cousins and nursing co-workers.
Shirley was an avid gardener who loved to be outdoors with her husband, cutting wood and enjoying nature.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Patrick; children Tim (Amy Edwards) and Tracy (Amit) Singh; cousins Sandra, Gerald and Kathleen; the Egelkraut cousins and Kurt and Keith Koroschetz.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mavis Onasch.
