Sheryl Ruth (Jones) Skoglund

Sheryl Ruth Skoglund, age 73, of Harris, MN passed away peacefully a GracePointe Crossings Gable West on June 11, 2026.

Sheryl was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Kathryn and James Jones on August 3, 1952.  She graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 1970, and throughout her career, worked at Control Data Corporation, as a childcare specialist at Tubman and attained an Associates Degree from Cambridge Community College in 1999.

Sheryl is remembered by her family as a lover of the natural world.  She enjoyed gardening and tended a beautiful collection of indoor plants.  Sheryl was a joyful observer of Minnesota birds and always had well-stocked bird feeders for the hummingbirds, orioles, cardinals and red-winged blackbirds that call Fish Lake home.  She was the first to know when the loons and their babies arrived at the lake each spring.

With love and gentle humor, Sheryl entertained her children and grandchildren with stories from their family growing up and always had incredible books, toys and activities planned for the children in her life, informed by her profession and her own curiosity and sense of fun.

Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents Kathryn and James Jones; her husband Steve Skoglund; brother-in-law Greg Skoglund; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Weiss and Lynn True.  She is survived by her children Chris (Erin) Skoglund and Elizabeth (Rob) Sorenson; her sister Gaylene (Mark) Frogley; her grandchildren Amelia and Reya; nieces Alana Frogley and Bethany (Hans) Stief; great nieces Willa, Nora and Edith; sisters-in-law Jill (Ron) Skoglund and Darlene Skoglund; brother-in-law Mark (Stacy) Skoglund and nieces and nephews Alexande, Kahl, Erin, Laura, Susan, Sydney, Zach, Alex, and Ray.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 19 at North Isanti Baptist Cemetery, 2248 313th Ave NE. Cambridge, MN.
