Samuel J. Tronson, 80, of Elk River, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at his home.
He was born on August 20, 1943 in Isanti Township to Dorothy Woolcott and Andy Tronson. He grew up in the Cambridge area and went to Cambridge High School. After high school, he worked at the powder milk plant in Isanti as well as various part time jobs. He graduated from a cooking school in Duluth.
Sam loved to cook. He had a great sense of humor and overcame several obstacles in his lifetime including a very debilitative car accident. He recovered from that after much hard work and persistence but never fully regained his former strength and abilities. He also recovered from alcohol addiction, with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous. He had a very positive attitude during his recovery from his accident as well as during other difficult times in his life.
Sam enjoyed cooking and working on his cars/truck. He had a beautiful blue 1970’s Ford F100 that he kept going past 300,000 miles. He cleaned the moisture from the distributor nearly every day and he even faced the challenges of replacing timing belts on more than one occasion. He also enjoyed reading the Bible.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Woolcott and father Andy Tronson and his twin sister Sarah Tronson.
He is survived by half sister Ila (Jim) Kunshier; brother Tony Tronson; several nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews including Ben, Naomi, Ruth, Jeremy, Joy and Karina.
Funeral Service 11AM, Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in Christ The King Catholic Cemetery.
