Rosalin J. (Ahrens) Wentworth

            Rosalin “Roney” J. Wentworth, 92 of Stark, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Elmhurst Commons in Braham on Sunday, May 8, 2022.

            She was born in Bartlett, ND on September 15, 1929 to Henry and Edna (Dennis) Ahrens.  The family moved to Oxlip in 1939.  She graduated form Cambridge High School in 1947. 

            She married Dean R. Wentworth on June 2, 1951 and dairy farmed near Bradford where their five children were raised.  She did lots on hard work on the farm all the years until they divorced in 1978.  She then moved to Cambridge until 1982 when she moved to Stark and lived with Paul Reese for 38 years until his passing.  They enjoyed lots of adventures together and playing BINGO at Flickabirds. 

            She was a very talented seamstress, making wedding dresses and outfits until she was 90 years old!  She was also an avid bowler, gardener and wine maker.  She had enjoyed many outings and trips with her sisters.

            Roney was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Robert, brothers Vernon “Bud” and Ray Ahrens, sisters Della (Glen) Boden, and Dorothy (Don) Dalen, daughter Paulette and husband David McCullough, grandsons Daniel and Nathaniel Hagfors, and granddaughter-in-law Jessica McCullough.

            She is survived by her children Gary (Cyndee) Wentworth, Penny (Doug) Hagfors, Julie (Scott) Glidden, Greg (Jean) Wentworth, nine grandchildren; Jennifer (Jeff) Haubert, Suzi (Dave) Todd, Jeff McCullough, Josh (Trisha) Wentworth, Matt (Kayla) Hagfors, Kyle Glidden, Jared Glidden, Amy (Dan) Baar, and Rebecca (Joey) Dvorak, 14 great grandchildren; Jordan & Jacob, Jarrett & Joslyn, Gavin & Eric, Ava & Nora, Addie & Lila, Felicity, Natalie, Nick & Luke, and sister-in-law Faye, other relatives and friends.

            The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Elmhurst Commons and St. Croix Hospice for the great care she received.  Also special thanks to Dr. Taryn Nyblom.

 Memorial service 4 PM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home 311 S. Ashland St. Cambridge.

Friends may gather 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home on Saturday.

 Private interment at Fish Lake Cemetery, Stark, MN
