Robert Edward Seel, 89, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
He was born October 29, 1935 in Rugby, North Dakota to Ernest and Frances (Giesinger) Seel. Robert grew up near Rugby, attending grade school. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in November 1954 and was honorably discharged in November 1958.
On July 18, 1955 he was united in marriage to Ellen DeGeest at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Motley. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where Robert was stationed while in the Air Force. While in Nebraska their first two children Jim and Debbie were born. In 1958 the family moved to Minneapolis and then to Andover where Patricia was born. They spent most of their time living in Andover. Robert worked at FMC and later at Electric Machinery, retiring from there in the early 1990’s. In 2000 they moved to Cambridge and built a home south of Goldenwood.
Bob and Ellen enjoyed traveling and went on several trips during their retirement years. Bob also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of Olive Branch Lutheran Church and Family of Christ Lutheran Church while in Andover and Joy Lutheran Church since moving to Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Robert, wife Ellen in December 2006, sisters Geraldine Seel, Eleanor Ruby, Delores Antonson.
Robert is survived by his children Jim Seel of St. Cloud, daughters Debbie (Leonard) Delly of Blaine, Patricia (Paul) Kaldenberg of FL, six grandchildren Jacob (Rachele) Seel, Bobby Seel, Jamie Seel, Elisha (Sean) Conery, Brandi (Andy Schmidt) Gemmill, Brittany Seel, five great grandchildren Evelyn, Kellen, Quentin, Bebe and Avante, brothers Gerald Seel of WI, Donald Seel of TX, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Robert will be Greatly Missed and Loved Forever!
