Randall J. Dressen

Randall Joseph Dressen, 75, of St. Francis passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at his home.

            He was born September 11, 1945 in Tyler, Minnesota to Bernard and Mary (Dubbelde) Dressen.  The family lived on a farm near Arco and later moved to Ivanhoe, MN where Randy attended grade school and graduated high school. In November 1965 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Forrestal.  In September 1969 he was honorably discharged.

            On June 1, 1974 he was united in marriage to Mary Satre at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hopkins.  They lived in Hopkins for a short time.  Randy worked for Honeywell so he and Mary lived throughout the U.S. including Hazelton, MO; Georgia, Fort Worth, Texas; and back to Minnesota in 1981.  In 1987 they moved to their home in St. Francis and have lived there since.  He retired from Honeywell after nearly 40 years.  In retirement, he and Mary spent some time wintering in Pensacola, FL.

            He was the former Mayor of St. Francis and served on the City Council. He was a member of the St. Francis American Legion and the Isanti VFW.  Randy enjoyed woodworking, and spending time helping at his sister-in-law's home on Island Lake near Remer.  He was a member of the NRA and taught youth gun training, and conceal and carry classes.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Dressen.  Randy is survived by his wife of 46 ½ years Mary, sister Elaine Mustari of Isanti, brother James (Mary Jo) Dressen of Urbandale, IA, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Allina hospice team and volunteers who provided wonderful care for Randy.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2-4PM, Sunday. February 28, 2021 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home.
