Phyllis Rosella Nosbusch, 82, of Bethel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at The Sanctuary Assisted Living in Brooklyn Center.
She was born September 23, 1939 in Pierre, South Dakota to Charles and Beatrice (Jensen) Osten. On October 5, 1939 she was baptized in Hillhead City, SD. By the age of 11 her family moved to St. Paul. She was confirmed at the age of 15 in St. Paul. Phyllis went on to graduate high school in St. Paul.
On August 23, 1958 she was united in marriage to Paul Nosbusch at the St. Paul Cathedral. They raised five children. Phyllis was a stay-at-home mom when the kids were younger. The family would move to Blaine and Phyllis was a Boy Scout leader when her sons were younger. She also worked as a survey taker at the Northtown Mall. The family attended St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Blaine until moving to Bethel in 1974 and became members of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Oak Grove.
While in Bethel, Phyllis also joined the Lioness Group. She loved to sew, read, and watch the Minnesota Twins. Phyllis was a wonderful knitter and would knit different styles of shoes (cowboy boots, sandals, roller skates and tennis shoes) for all the babies, and also did crocheting. She enjoyed collecting bells and clowns, and whenever family would travel, they made sure to bring back a bell or clown for Phyllis.
Phyllis was reserved, kind and very loving. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and the grandkids couldn’t wait for Christmas Eve at grandma and grandpa’s. Even as the grandkids got older, they made sure that their spouses knew that Christmas Eve would be spent there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 53 years Paul, and son Brad Nosbusch.
Phyllis is survived by her children Judy Esterby (Galen Hass) of Isanti, David Nosbusch of Ham Lake, Mike (Susie) Nosbusch of Oak Grove, Kathy Nosbusch of Isanti, 11grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, other family and friends.
Funeral Service 11AM, Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Oak Grove. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
