Perry Theodore Becklin

Perry Theodore Becklin, a lifelong resident of Cambridge, Minnesota, died July 8, 2024, at the age of eighty-nine. Perry was born at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN on November 11, 1934, the son of Raymond Wilheim Becklin and Alice Martha Lind Becklin of Cambridge, MN.

As a great grandson of the founding members and builders of the Cambridge Lutheran Church, Perry was baptized and confirmed, and remained a faithful lifelong member of the church.

Perry was a graduate of Cambridge High School and was an accomplished pianist. He graduated from the Minnesota School of Agriculture.  He served in the military at Fort Lewis, Washington and received an honorable discharge.

Until his retirement in 1999, Perry was employed for 42 years by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and served in the Agricultural Research Service at the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Wilheim Becklin and Alice Martha Lind Becklin, sister Elaine Madeline (nee Becklin) Olson and brother-in-law Russell Clifford Olson, and brother Dwaine Raymond Becklin.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Jean Becklin, six nieces and nephews, Bryan (Sharon) Olson, Colleen (Loren) Seifert, Wayne (Sharry) Becklin, Connie (Bill) Bush, Beth Olson, and Korynn (Mark) Drake, and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 11 AM Friday July 12, 2024 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home 311 S. Ashland St. Cambridge, MN 763-689-2244

Visitation 1 hour prior to his service at the funeral home.

Interment at Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery, Cambridge, MN. His pallbearers Wayne Becklin, Loren Seifert, Bill Bush, Kyle Becklin, Jake Seifert, and Eric Olson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Cambridge Lutheran Church or donors’ choice.
