Patrick Davis Obituary

Patrick Elmer Davis, age 77, of Stacy, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, on May 29, 2026.

He was born on December 11, 1948, to Elmer and Leona Davis in Deer River, Minnesota. Pat spent his early years in Deer River, growing up alongside his siblings and many cousins with whom he remained close throughout his life. His family later moved to Hoyt Lakes and Storden before settling in Cedar in 1960. He attended St. Francis High School, graduating in 1967.

After high school, Pat attended Bemidji State University, where he enjoyed attending school along with his cousins, returning to Deer River on weekends. While dating Shirley Onasch, he transferred to the University of Minnesota. Pat and Shirley were married on August 9, 1969, and made their home in Linwood Township, where they raised their two children, Tim and Tracy.

Following their marriage, Pat worked for Grazzini Brothers and Advanced Terrazzo, installing terrazzo flooring in schools and commercial buildings throughout Minnesota and Iowa. He took pride in the craftsmanship of the finished product and returned to this work several times during his career.

Seeking work closer to home, Pat joined neighbor Frank Linz at Reel Manufacturing. As a machinist, he helped design parts and prepare bids for clients.

In 1995, with their children grown, Pat and Shirley decided it was time for a new chapter. Pat left Reel Manufacturing and purchased land from the Onasch family, where with the help of many family members and friends, they built a home in the woods they would enjoy together for the next 30 years.

Throughout these years, Pat farmed land in Isanti County, a pursuit that filled much of his time and brought him great satisfaction. Springtime was for planting, summer for fishing, autumn for harvesting, and winter for cutting wood. He enjoyed rebuilding engines, constructing homemade trailers, and attending auctions in search of parts for his next project. Pat was never one for large crowds, but if you caught him one-on-one, he could share stories for hours.

Pat is survived by his children, Tim (Amy Edwards) Davis and Tracy (Amit) Singh; siblings Mike, Jonell, Tony, and Richard; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 54 years, Shirley.
