Mary Elizabeth Duvall, age 83, of Dalbo, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Mary was born on April 2, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to George and Mary (Osman) Wilson. She was raised in North Minneapolis and attended Minneapolis North High School. Later in life, she fulfilled a calling to care for others by earning her nursing degree—a reflection of the compassion and dedication that defined her life.
On December 24, 1960, Mary married the love of her life, George Duvall, in Minneapolis. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. They began their journey in Coon Rapids, where they raised their three children, and in 1988, they made their home in Dalbo, where they remained.
Mary devoted her life to caring for others. She worked in the pediatric department at Unity Hospital, where her gentle spirit brought comfort to countless children and their families. She later continued her work in nursing and went on to serve as a house manager at a pediatric group home in Coon Rapids, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Mary was a devoted member of Karmel Covenant Church, where she faithfully served as a helper to the parish nurse, volunteered in the nursery, and participated in Bible study groups. She also played an important role in, The Gathering, a support group for individuals in the early stages of dementia, offering compassion and guidance to many.
Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved going to the Minnesota State Fair, camping—especially at Manitou Valley Campground in Wisconsin—and traveling in the motorhome, with special memories made along the North Shore and in Branson, Missouri. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. She was a devoted mother and an extraordinary grandmother whose warmth, laughter, and love filled every gathering. Mary had a special gift for knowing just what to say, offering comfort, wisdom, and encouragement when it was needed most.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Georgia Ann Govednik; and two beloved grandchildren, Patrick Alberg and Samantha Kittridge.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband, George; her children, Joe Duvall and his wife Rona of North Branch, Julie Miller and Dave of Cambridge, and Kim Kuntz and her husband Paul of Dalbo, Brian and his wife Donna; her eight grandchildren, Will Kittridge, Jennifer (Kimie) Krienitz Duvall, Chris (Mindy) Norman, Nikki (Darin) Vagts, Emily (Ryan) Anderson, Lexi Miller, Bree Kuntz, and Brady Kuntz; along with twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, Oakleigh. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was constant and unwavering.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Karmel Covenant Church, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
