Marlene Vivian Hanson, 65, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born July 19, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Marlo and Vivian (Hathaway) Swanson. Marlene grew up in Forest Lake and graduated high school in 1974. After high school she worked various factory jobs in the metro area.
On April 12, 1980 she was united in marriage to Richard Hanson in Ham Lake. They made their home in Lino Lakes and later Texas before moving back to Andover. The last 22 years they lived in Spencer Brook and Cambridge.
Marlene worked for 20 years at Cambridge Launderers and Cleaners.
She and Richard enjoyed their time spent in Tampa, Florida. Marlene also loved to travel, making trips to Europe, Cota Rica and Belize. She was one to try just about anything at least once. She rode horseback in the mountains, went ziplining and snorkeling.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Bradley in 2004.
Marlene is survived by her husband Richard, children Claud Hanson (Jenny Woodsman) of Pine City, Jennifer (Heath) Bohannon of SC, Richard Hanson Jr. (Nicole Lundberg) of Princeton, Jeffrey Hanson of Cambridge, Crystal (Rachel) Laudermilk of GA, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, siblings Arlen Swanson of Ramey, MN, Linda (Michael) Ingalls of Buffalo, Cindy O'Neil of Cambridge, Paul Swanson of WY, Joel (Laurie) Swanson of WY, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 4-7PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge.
