Loren R. Frank, age 85, of Cambridge, MN formerly of Webster, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge.
Loren was born on July 14, 1939, in Minneapolis, MN, to Rosalie and Lyle Frank. He attended Marshall High School and earned an Associate in Arts degree at the University of Minnesota.
On May 20, 1961, Loren married his high school sweetheart, Judith E. West, in Minneapolis. During his service in the U.S. Army from March 1962 to March 1964, the couple lived in El Paso, TX, where their first son, Brett W. Frank Sr., was born on January 3, 1964. After completing his active duty, Loren served in the Army Reserves until 1968 and received multiple commendations, including the Green Hornet Merit Award, Good Conduct Award, and the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.
Loren and his family later settled in Brooklyn Center, MN, where their second son, Craig R. Frank, was born on January 19, 1967. They eventually made their home in Brooklyn Park, raising their sons and two grandsons. Loren worked as a Medical Equipment and Supplies Sales Representative for Curtin Mathison Scientific (later Thermo Fisher Scientific) for 36 years, earning numerous sales awards.
In 2004, Loren and Judy retired to their family cabin in Webster, WI, where they enjoyed lake views, hosting family gatherings, and spending time with loved ones. In May 2023, they moved to GracePointe Assisted Living in Cambridge to be closer to family.
Loren was a devoted member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center, participating in the men's golf league and took particular pleasure in contributing to the annual garage sale, showcasing his exceptional sales skills. He also dedicated 12 years to volunteering with Loaves and Fishes in Minneapolis. After relocating to Webster, he became an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Siren, WI, and contributed his time to Ruby's Pantry, Connections Thrift Store, and GPS (God's People Serving). Loren’s passions included playing cards and golf, traveling, fishing, waterskiing, cats and dogs, and cherishing time with his family and grandchildren.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalie and Lyle Frank; wife, Judy Frank; son, Brett Frank Sr.; sister, Shannon Kanan; brother-in-law, Ron West; and nephews, Dodd Kanan and Tony West.
He is survived by his son, Craig (Becky) Frank of Cambridge; sister-in-law Barb (Denny) Kugler of Annandale; brother-in-law Ken Kanan of Dresser, WI; nine grand-children, Steve (Sheri) Frank, Nick (Mary) Frank, Brett Frank, Jr., Crystal (John) Banasik, Michael Frank, Kathlyn (Isaac) Frank, Ricky Frank, Lucas Frank and Brady Frank; five great-grandchildren, Grace Frank, Eli Frank, Isabella Frank, Charles Frank, Angela Banasik; nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service 11AM, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Cambridge. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
