Lois C. Thompson, 89, of Nowthen, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Guardian Angels Engel Haus in Albertville, MN on November 3, 2024.
On May 16, 1935, Lois was born to Edward and Emma Leistico. She graduated from Elk River High School in 1953. On April 7, 1956, Lois married Wally Thompson. They made their home together on their farm in Elk River and were blessed with six children.
Lois worked, farmed, and gardened alongside her husband Wally. She was a dedicated and welcoming homemaker. As an exceptional cook and baker, she enjoyed hosting her family for holidays and gatherings with a menu of special meals and family favorites. No one left her home hungry. Her famous recipes for caramel rolls, pies, dinner rolls, lemon bars and lasagna will be especially missed.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wally; daughter, Audrey; sons, Mike and Steve and brother-in-law Ronald Ellingson.
She is survived by her sons, Mark, Todd and Wayne (Tammy) Thompson; daughters-in-law, Sandy and Lisa; grandchildren, Garry (Emily) Thompson, Gerry Thompson, Ryan (Becky) Thompson, Alan (Kelly) Thompson, Courtney Hjelmeland, Mason (Brittney) Hjelmeland, Olivia (James) Lindstrom and Laurel Thompson; 14 great-grandchildren, Harmony, Vincent, Vayda, Lydia, Audrey, Eli, Susanna, Owen, Naomi, Theodore, Abigail; Baby Boy Thompson due in November, Xavier and Castelle; sister Edna Ellingson; nephew, John Ellingson; beloved niece Tammy (Doug) Kolles; dear friends, Geri Barsody and Ruth Hauan and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Lois’ family expresses their sincere thanks to the care teams at Guardian Angels Engel Haus and Triniti Hospice Care.
Urn bearers will be grandsons Garry Thompson, Alan Thompson and Ryan Thompson.
