Lisa Pantekoek Obituary

Lisa Marie Pantekoek, 59, a cherished soul known for her gentle, loving, and kind nature, passed away on July 23, 2024, in Cedar, MN. Born on May 26, 1965, in Cambridge, MN, Lisa lived a life rich with love, family, and enduring friendships.
Lisa graduated from Cambridge High School in the Class of 1983 before continuing her education in St. Cloud. Her professional journey was marked by her dedicated service at Jerry Lehn State Farm Insurance Agency, David Nordquist State Farm Insurance Agency, Kevin Vote State Farm Insurance Agency, and most recently Wayne Swart State Farm Insurance Agency, where she dedicated many years of service.
In 1987, she and Brett Thomas welcomed Jennings. In 1996, Lisa's heart led her to Hawaii, where she married Jeffrey Walker. Together, they built a beautiful home in Zimmerman in 2002 and were blessed with two wonderful children Karley & Jerrik.  Later in life, she was led to Craig Pantekoek. Their connection was undeniable, and they married on September 23, 2017, in Madeline Island, weaving their lives together in a tapestry of joy and mutual respect.
Lisa's zest for life was evident in her many interests. She relished in the pleasure of traveling and cherished family, trips to Florida where memories were made and laughter was shared under the sun. Lisa's home was always filled with warmth, especially during the holidays, as she hosted events that brought everyone closer. She was also known for her famous "hot grandma cookies," a treat that will be missed by all who had the pleasure of tasting them. Her home was a hub for gatherings, a testament to her role as a host of cherished friendships that spanned from high school through her entire life.

Lisa’s grandchildren were the light of her life, and she often enjoyed spending time with them on the weekends. A regular at the Round Barn, Lisa enjoyed shopping and had an eye for treasures that added character and charm to her home. Her dog, Teddy, was a faithful companion, often by her side as she went about her day.

She was preceded in death by her father James Sutherland, brother James Sutherland Jr., and step-father Byron Yerigan.
Lisa is survived by a loving family that includes her husband Craig of Cedar; her children Jennings Thomas (Elizabeth Genadek) of Cambridge, Karley (Jordan) Hollom of Zimmerman, Jerrik Walker (Sydney Forbord) of Zimmerman, Trevor Pantekoek of Andover, Marissa Pantekoek of Cedar; grandchildren Gavin and Ryan Thomas, with one more on the way; mother Gloria Yerigan of McGregor; siblings Tony (Lisa) Sutherland of Stanchfield, Angela Sutherland of Cambridge, Luke (Holly) Sutherland of Cambridge; and several other relatives and close friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Lisa's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family bonds, and the importance of friendship. She has left the world richer for her presence and will be deeply missed by all.
