Lee Baker Obituary

Lee J. Baker age 47 of Stanchfield, passed away at his home on March 6, 2025, after having fought a long, hard battle against Stage 4 squamous cell Lung cancer.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Ruth & Barney Wagner, Pat & Lee Baker; uncles Fred Wagner and Vis Vidins.

Lee is survived by his son Silas Baker, parents Robert Baker and Patty Wagner, brother Ryan Wagner-Baker and niece Alexus Bell-Wagner-Baker.

He is also survived by his aunts Judy Vidins and Janice (Tim) Baker.

Lee was born in Cambridge on April 16, 1977. He graduated from Braham High School in 1995, and from Century College in 2009.

After milking cows for a local farmer and delivering pizzas during his high school years, Lee’s working career primarily consisted of being an Automotive Service Advisor, Special Education Paraprofessional and Quality Control Lead Technician.

This last position at a manufacturing plant would prompt Lee to describe himself as: “a proud American factory worker”.

Lee grew up on a 20-acre hobby farm, where with his brother and friends, built forts, dug deep holes, trapped gophers, made trails, rode bicycles, then dirt bikes and played lots of baseball on “Baker Field”.

Lee’s love for the Minnesota Twins remained constant throughout his life.  He attended many games with family and friends, including the 1987 World Series.

Lee always had a passion for music, good music. Along with high school friends, he played in a band named Blue Sunday.  He collected many guitars over the years which he liked to play.  He also enjoyed going to concerts and festivals to see his favorite musicians perform.

Lee had a lifelong love for the outdoors, and in recent years, he continued to work in the woods and maintain his network of trails until his health failed.

Lee fought his relentless cancer right to the end.  He never once complained about his situation, and he appreciated everything his medical care team did for him.

Lee was an outgoing, friendly and kind man.  He will be missed.

A celebration gathering, to remember Lee, will be from 1-4 PM Saturday April 12 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home 311 S. Ashland St. Cambridge. 763-689-2244
