Larry E. McDermeit

Larry Evert McDermeit was born on October 31, 1961, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and passed away on January 2, 2026, in Mora, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alymer and Lois (Hougham) McDermeit.

Larry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Wendi (Ferrian) McDermeit, whom he married on February 28, 1987. Together they shared nearly four decades of life, family, and commitment.

He is also survived by his daughter, Alissa McDermeit and her husband, Joshua Oquist; his son, Joshua McDermeit, and his wife, Erin McDermeit; and his grandchildren, Marek Polchow, Oskar and Koral Oquist, and Otto McDermeit, who brought him great pride and joy.

Larry is further survived by his brother, Michael (Mary) McDermeit; his parents-in-law, Alvin and Carol Ferrian; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Robert (Kay) Ferrian, Sherlyn Tischner, and Daisy (Brian) Kono; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1979 and retired last year after a dedicated career as a facility manager for a manufacturing company.

Larry enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR races, going for drives, and spending time on adventures with his family. He will be remembered as he was at his best—energetic, hardworking, and adventurous.
