Larry Filmore Hammargren, 68, of Duluth, MN formerly of Cambridge, MN passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth from complications of the flu and pneumonia.
He was born July 14, 1955 in Hillsboro, North Dakota to G. Filmore and Hermoine (Honerud) Hammargren. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1973. In high school, Larry participated in football, basketball and track. He went to the state tournament for track in his senior year.
Larry worked at the Purple Hawk Golf Course as a groundskeeper, later he became an independent painter for nearly 30 years. He always wanted to make someone’s day a little bit better. Larry’s favorite saying to people was, “Have a good day”!
Larry was preceded in death by his father Filmore Hammargren in 2017 and mother Hermoine Schipper in 2019.
Larry’s grandchildren meant the world and were so precious to him. They were the light of his life. The stories he told them had them smiling and laughing. He lived for his grandkids.
