Karen Antrobus passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at St. Clare’s Community Living in Mora, Minnesota, at the age of 63.
She was born March 29, 1963 in Cambridge, MN the daughter of Harold E. and Iva Lou J. (Pasbrig) Becker. She and her seven siblings were raised on their parents’ hobby farm. As a child, she had a Shetland pony named “Cocklebur.” She also enjoyed working alongside her brothers—often right under the hood as they worked on their cars.
Karen attended grade school in Isanti, Minnesota, and graduated from Cambridge-Isanti High School in 1981. While in high school, she worked at a small restaurant called the Nugget Café. One of her fondest memories from that time was meeting country singer Waylon Jennings, who stopped in for a meal after a fishing trip up north and left her a signed autograph.
After high school, Karen married John Simon of Rush City, Minnesota. They had two sons, Matthew and Travis. Although Karen and John later divorced, Karen remained in the Rush City area.
Over the years, Karen worked at Plastech in Rush City, tended bar and also worked as a nurse’s aide at a group home. She loved singing karaoke, and it was through karaoke that she met her husband, Bob Antrobus. Karen and Bob lived for a short time on his farm, caring for his horses. Bob passed away just four months after they were married.
Later in life, Karen’s passion became her motorcycle. She enjoyed taking rides with friends and with her brother, Paul.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Harold Becker; her brother, Paul Becker; her sister, Deborah Becker; her paternal grandparents, Ambrose and Alma Becker; and her maternal grandparents, Edward and Rose Pasbrig.
She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Jessica) Simon, and Travis (Shelby) Simon; granddaughter, Bella; mother, Iva Lou Fluegel (Becker); brothers, Dan (Debra) Becker, Greg (Michelle) Becker, Mark (Joy) Becker, Mike (Cindy) Becker; sister, Shelly (Tim) Pankan, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
