Judy Jane Stake, 78, died March 6, 2021 at Ecumen Assisted Living Center in North Branch.
She was born in Sunrise Township May 8, 1942 to Hal and Margaret Smith and grew up in the Stark, Harris and North Branch areas.
On January 9, 1960 Judy was united in marriage to David L. Stake. They had two daughters Valerie and Veronica. In 1969, they purchased the John Deere Implement (Krueger and Stake, Inc.). They sold the John Deer Business in 1981 and later owned Stake Insurance Services in Cambridge.
Judy’s primary job was a homemaker. She enjoyed participating in the woman’s quilting group at Cambridge Lutheran Church, cross-stitching, crocheting, sewing, reading novels, birthday club with her girlfriends and vacationing with David, her daughters and friends. Judy had recently gone to Norway in August 2017 with a traveling group.
Judy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Valerie (Terry) Treichel of North Fort Myers/Cambridge and Veronica Stake of Cambridge; four grandchildren Nathan, Chad (Melissa) Caza, Jessica (significant other, Joe) and David (Samantha) Smiley; great grandchildren MaKenna, Addison, Nathan, Hunter, Jayden, Josaphine, June, Brynn; sister Karen Nelson of North Branch, sister-in-law Carol Grissman of North Branch.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband David in 1999, brother Basil Grissman and brother-in-law Marvin “Swede” Nelson.
