Joyce C. Lantz, 88, of Rush City, MN passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Rushseba Station in Rush City.
She was born September 1, 1937 in Duluth, Minnesota to Clifford Sr. and Elsa (Anderson) Theline.
The family later moved to their farm east of Isanti where Joyce grew up. She loved the farm and experienced many adventures and memories with her brothers & sisters and best friend Lorna (Anderson) Christensen. After graduating from Cambridge High School in 1955, Joyce attended the University of Minnesota and obtained her LPN degree. She spent her career with the Cambridge Medical Center at both the Cambridge and Braham Clinics, retiring in 2002.
Joyce met Carl Lantz, the love of her life, in 1958 while roller skating at the Rush City roller rink. On April 30, 1960 Joyce and Carl were united in marriage at South Isanti Baptist Church near Isanti, MN. After their wedding they moved to the farm near West Rush Lake where they spent the next 34 years farming. In 1967 they welcomed their daughter Julie into their family. Joyce dedicated her life caring for Julie who was born with Cystic Fibrosis. Joyce’s love and committed care is credited with Julie being able to live a full and wonderful life.
She loved to travel. Her and Carl enjoyed many family trips and bus tours across the country. She had numerous trips with her granddaughter, Alysha and was always up for an adventure.
