Joan Barbara Turcotte, age 90, of Elk River, MN passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025.
Joan was born in Glidden, WI, on April 18, 1935, to Carl and Veronica Sell. On October 5, 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert Turcotte in Duluth, MN. Together, they raised five children and made their home in Elk River, MN.
A lifelong homemaker, Joan was best known for her incredible baking skills—especially her chocolate chip cookies. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert Turcotte, and her son, Brian.
She is survived by her brother, Edwin Sell; her children, Nancy (Ray) Winter, Patrick (Donna), Daniel, and Paul; her grandchildren, Shawn, Stephanie, Brooke, Matthew, Samantha, Jeremiah, and John; and seven great-grandchildren.
Joan’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Guardian Angels by the Lake and to Father Mark of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
