JoAnn E. (Dix) Holderness

JoAnn Elaine Holderness, 79, of Isanti, MN passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at GracePointe Crossing.

She was born August 2, 1945 in Hibbing, Minnesota to James and Eleanor (Wallene) Dix.  JoAnn was raised by her mother and stepfather Jack Belich, she grew up in Hibbing where she attended school. 

On December 1, 1962 she was united in marriage to Gerald Holderness at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  They moved to Bloomington, MN where they raised their three sons.  JoAnn worked at a dry cleaner, later at Ed Fields Vegetable Farm and also worked various other jobs over the years.

She and Jerry owned a condominium in Mazatlán, Mexico and spent a lot of time in Mexico over the years.  They made their home in Andover, Grandy and in 2018 moving to Isanti.

Joann enjoyed painting, monogramming, collecting carnival glass, antiques and cuckoo clocks.  The cabin in Onamia was a place where JoAnn could go to and relax.   

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother James Dix Jr.

JoAnn is survived by her husband Gerald, sons Rick Holderness (Erika Cappiello), Tim (Sheila) Holderness, Tom (Cindy) Holderness, grandchildren Jessica, Austin and Heather Holderness, Rachael Ilstrup, Jeremey Holderness, Kaytlyn Tourville, Krystal Sievert, and Matthew Holderness, great grandchildren Frog Ilstrup, Cora and Cashton Holderness, Khylie and James Tourville, Emery Holderness, Logan, Colton and Veada Sievert, Maverick, Myles and Hailey Holderness, siblings Chuckie (Wanda) Belich, Fran VanderSchaaf, Johnny Belich and Joy Norgard, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services 1PM, Friday, January 10, 2025 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home.  Visitation one hour prior to the service. 

Gathering at the Isanti VFW following the service. 

Interment at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
