Janet Elizabeth (Sherohman) Anderson, 73, of Cambridge, Minnesota, formerly of Columbia Heights and St. Francis, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Janet was born on May 29, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Thomas and Patricia (Andrews) Sherohman. She grew up in Columbia Heights, where she attended school and built many lifelong friendships. Following high school, Janet married and became the proud mother of two children, Will and Sarah.
Throughout her life, Janet lived in several communities throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area. She dedicated 30 years of service to Hennepin County Medical Center before retiring. Janet made her home in St. Francis from 1991 until 2021, when she moved to Cambridge. She quickly embraced her new community, and cherished the many friendships she formed there.
Janet had a deep love for gardening, and was an active member of the Cambridge Community Garden. She delighted in sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with others, encouraging many to discover the joys of gardening for themselves. Janet was also an excellent cook who found great pleasure in preparing meals for family and friends. In addition, she was a lifelong fan of the Beatles, was a highly accomplished dart player, and proudly held the title of Minnesota State Women’s Singles Dart Champion 10 times.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Patricia (Andrews) Sherohman, and her brother, Thomas Sherohman.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Will Anderson (Christine Sunnarborg) of North Branch, and Sarah Anderson (Jacob Joachim) of Grantsburg, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Bunny Anderson of Isanti, Zachary Joachim (Holly Johnson) of Ham Lake, and Max Anderson of Duluth; and her great-grandchildren, Timothy and Corrine.
Janet is also survived by her siblings, James (Jackie) Sherohman of Minneapolis, Patricia Welch of Wyoming, Susan Waters of Canada, Joseph Sherohman of Osseo, Robert (Michelle) Sherohman of Anoka, Kathleen Sherohman of Columbia Heights, and Gerard Sherohman of Minneapolis, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
