James M. Yerigan, 74, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley
He was born September 24, 1949 in Princeton, Minnesota to Henry “Bud” and Marion (Thunstrom) Yerigan. Jim grew up in Cambridge where he attended country school and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1968. Following high school, he enlisted in the Army Reserves which he served over 25 years.
On March 24, 1973 he was united in marriage to Vicki Ness at Salem English Lutheran Church. They lived for a short time in South Minneapolis before moving to Fridley in 1974 and raised their two children.
Jim worked at Northland Aluminum and at a grocery warehouse before starting his job at NSP/Excel Energy from which he worked over 30 years. After retiring in 2005, he and Vicki moved to Cambridge and built their home. They spent winters in Mesa, AZ and made a trip to Hawaii.
They became members of Cambridge Lutheran Church where Jim was active in Men’s Bible Study and he enjoyed attending the contemporary service. He enjoyed golfing and golfed on the Men’s League at Sanbrook Golf Course in Isanti. He was a member of the Legion Motorcycle Riders Group, enjoyed riding and seeing the countryside. He loved spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren. He was active in Fantasy NASCAR and was a die-hard Ford guy. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David and brother Harold.
Jim is survived by his wife Vicki, daughter Lynn Yerigan of Cambridge, daughter-in-law Connie Yerigan of Fridley, four grandchildren Madison Yerigan, Samuel Miller, Allison Yerigan and Sydney Miller, brothers Wayne Yerigan and Paul Yerigan both of Cambridge, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred.
Memorial Service 11AM, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Cambridge Lutheran Church. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
