James T. LaNore, age 75, of Stanchfield, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2025. Born on November 8, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Thomas and Lillian (Winter) LaNore.
Jim grew up alongside his siblings, Pat and Jeff. He was a graduate of St. Louis Park High School, class of 1968. On February 19, 1972, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Vickie Lakeberg, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins. Their union was blessed with two sons, Justin and Zachary.
In the early years of their marriage, Jim was employed at Pella Windows while they lived in St. Louis Park. Later, they moved to be closer to Vickie’s parents near Lake Fannie in Cambridge. In 1995, they built their forever home in Stanchfield.
Jim was a man of faith and a long-time member of North Isanti Baptist Church before joining Cross Pointe Church.
Professionally, Jim was the proud owner of LaNore Builders Inc. and was also employed at Volunteers of America. In his retirement, Jim drove for local farmers. He was currently active as a board member of the Isanti County Planning Commission, where his insights and dedication were highly valued.
Above all, Jim was a family man. His home was always open, providing a welcoming haven for family and friends. He could often be found with a twinkle in his eye as he spent time with his grandkids and special four-legged friends. He found joy in keeping up with the latest action movies, mowing his yard to perfection, and traveling. Jim and Vickie shared a fondness for cruising, visiting Branson for the renowned sound and light shows, and creating unforgettable memories together.
Left to honor Jim's legacy are his beloved wife Vickie LaNore of Stanchfield; his children, Justin LaNore, and Zachary (Lindsay) LaNore of Shoreview; his grandchildren, Kyle LaNore of Brook Park, Abby LaNore of Stanchfield, and Avery & Peyton LaNore of Shoreview; his sister, Pat Rozman of Minneapolis; his brother, Jeff LaNore of Florida; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Lakeberg of Mora. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lillian LaNore, and his parents-in-law, Delorn and Lorraine Lakeberg, as well as his brother-in-law, Scott Lakeberg.
His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort those he left behind.
Memorial Service 2PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Cross Pointe Church in Cambridge. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in North Branch.
