Meredith "Jack" Barney, passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on February 21, 1947, in Lewistown, Montana He was born on February 21, 1947 to Lula Berdie (Snapp) and Meredith Clarence Barney in Lewistown, MT. His final days were spent in North Branch, Minnesota.
Jack's early life in Lewistown set the stage for his deep-rooted values and commitment to community. After completing his bachelor's degree, he embarked on a career that would define much of his character. Jack proudly served as a deputy sheriff of Lewiston Fergus County.
His passion for service extended beyond his civilian role. Jack was a member of the US Navy during the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated the same courage and dedication that would later characterize his time in law enforcement. His experiences in the service further cemented his love for his country and his desire to make a positive impact on the world.
He is survived by his daughters Laura Barney of Redmond, OR, and Julie Barney of Great Falls, MT; grandchildren Archer and Arlo; sister Susan Slade of WI and significant other Lynette Brambrink of Isanti, MN
