Gregory M. Eberle

August 17, 1960 ~ July 12, 2023 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Obituary

Gregory M Eberle, 62 of Cambridge MN passed away on July 12, 2023 at his lake home in Garrison.

He was born August 17 1960 in Plymouth Mn to Arthur and Patricia Eberle. Greg grew up in Plymouth, and attended Wayzata School where he played hockey.  In 11th grade, he moved to Fish Trap Lake in Lincoln Mn. He graduated from Motley High School in 1978.  He then went on to attend Brainerd Tech where he got his welding degree.  He worked for Steiger Tractor as a welder until they closed.

On October 2, 1982 he married Karen Smith of Motley at Lincoln Evangelical Free Church.  They lived in Moorehead for a short time before moving to Fridley, Golden Valley, and then to Cambridge in 1992.  During their life together they had four daughters.  Upon the death of their daughter Leigha in 2008, they adopted her son Anthony.

Over the years Greg worked at Packaging Plus Industries in Brooklyn Park as a supervisor for 20 years. He then worked at Dairy Concepts in Dalbo before leaving to work for Safety Speed in Ham Lake as a welder where he stayed until he retired in July of 2022 due to his failing health.

Greg attended Karmel Covenant and was also a member of AA. He was very proud of his nearly 23 years of sobriety.

Greg enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, Ice skating, Hockey, (he especially loved watching the MN Wild). He loved riding jet ski and swimming with his family.  But he had a special love for riding motorcycles and listening to music.

Greg dreamed of owning a cabin on the lake. In 2020 his dream came true when he purchased a lake home on Borden Lake in Garrison Mn.  He found peace there and went home to be with the Lord looking out over the lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Eberle, Patricia and Ronald Jacobsen, daughter Leigha, and favorite uncle, Eddie Eberle.  He is survived by his wife Karen Eberle, daughters Shanna (Dan) Sarazin of Bradford, Jessica Eberle of Princeton, Alexa Eberle of Cambridge, son Anthony Eberle of Cambridge Grandchildren Ayden, Garrett, Amaya, Maria, and Hailey, sister Teresa Bender of Blaine, other relatives and friends.
