Gregg Francis Barbeln, age 64 of St. Michael, Minnesota went home to the Lord on July 3rd, 2023 in Zimmerman, Minnesota, after a life dedicated to his faith, his family, friends and his work.
Gregg was born in Buffalo, Minnesota to Francis and Rita Barbeln on July 30th, 1958. He went to school in St. Michael, and married Teri LeFebvre on October 16th, 1982 in Elk River, Minnesota. They have two sons, Nathan and Brian, now ages 34 and 30. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing golf with his sons. Some of their fondest memories include time at the cabin up North and midwest road trips over MEA weekend. He was a regular at Elk River Country Club, claiming one of the earliest tee times most weekend mornings. Gregg especially wanted his children to know how very much he loves them.
He worked for over 40 years with his best friend Paul Berning at Kennedy Scales in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Under the Kennedy Scales umbrella, Gregg worked as an independent contractor, developing relationships with clients throughout the Midwest, exhibiting loyalty and commitment to his customers and Kennedy as a whole. He loved working with his friend Paul, and worked hard for the company up until the end of his life.
Gregg is preceded in death by his mother, Rita. He is survived by his wife, Teri; his son Nathan, wife Maegan, and son Nash; his son Brian and fiancée Brianna; his father Francis, and siblings Leanne (Carroll) Paananen, Keith Barbeln, Al (Janet) Barbeln, Nancy (Dwight) Homstad, Tom (Deb) Barbeln, Glen (Pam) Barbeln.
Funeral will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 11300 Frankfort Pkwy NE. St. Michael, Minnesota on Friday, July 14th at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at church.
Interment St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made in Gregg’s name to St. Michael Catholic School in St. Michael, St. Andrew’s Catholic School in Elk River, or Elevier Women’s Center in Elk River.
