Glenn Larsen Obituary

Glenn Edward Larsen, age 76 of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Brooklyn Center, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2022.

Glenn was born on February 28, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Glenn and Anna Larsen. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Brooklyn Center, MN.  During his youth, he attended Our Lady of Victoria Grammar School and Brooklyn Center High School.  He played on the first Brooklyn Center football team and was the Co-Captain of the team in his senior year of 1964. Glenn was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he did many camping trips and competed in many canoe racing tournaments. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, water skiing, baseball and cars with his many friends.  He also excelled at bowling, from an early age at Beacon Bowl, which he continued throughout his life.

Upon graduating high school, Glenn completed 2 years of Business School in St. Cloud.  Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard and was honorably discharged after 5 months due to an injury during basic training.

When he returned home, he married his sweetheart Claudia Land in 1968.  He started Larsen School Bus Service of Minneapolis.  After 6 years, he sold this business and moved to Aitkin, where he started Larsen Livestock and Freight Hauling Service.  A couple years later he sold that business and moved to Minneapolis to work as a truck driver for various trucking companies.  He spent the 80's in Maple Grove while his 3 boys attended Osseo, and he loved watching them compete in sports.  He later lived up by Mille Lacs for years before heading to the warmth of Ocala, Florida.

When Glenn was not working, he enjoyed fishing on Mille Lacs Lake, hunting with his “Group” up-north and bowling in a league with his many friends. He studied the bible and would share The Word with others.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sons Andrew (DeeDee) Larsen, Charles (Leigh) Larsen and Joseph (Donna) Larsen. Glenn is the proud grandfather of Alex, Lindsey, Drewanna (Jack) Mault, Lincoln, Karissa, Charlie, Chace and Joey.  He also has 3 great-grandchildren - Alaina, Charlotte and Hunter.

Glenn is also survived by his sister Gloria Regan and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
