Geneva Joann (Elsberry) Holland

Geneva Joann Holland, 76, of Milbank, SD, died tragically in an auto accident and entered God’s Kingdom on December 27, 2023 in New London, MN.

Geneva was born on April 15, 1947, to Myron (Bud) Allan & Marian Maude Elsberry in Aberdeen, SD.

Geneva graduated from the Clearmont School District. She married her soulmate, Roger Holland in June of 1965. Together they welcomed 2 children; Teresa and Mark. She worked at the Cambridge Hospital for 10 years before working at the Cambridge State Hospital until they closed their doors followed by jobs at the Cambridge Nursing Home, Hinckley Casino, and multiple group homes. She moved to Milbank, SD to be closer to her children and grandchildren. While living in Milbank she found employment at the Golden Living Nursing Home and retired after 19 years.

Geneva loved to travel, sitting  in her chair listening to books, drinking hot tea and eating a caramel roll. Most of all, she loved spending time and taking care of her family– soaking up every second she could.

Geneva was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

She is survived by daughter Teresa Holland King Rhodes, son Mark Holland, 5 grandchildren Marty (Sheena) King, Mitchell (Katrina) King, Levi Holland, Sadie Holland, Hunter Holland, great-grandchildren Cody, Corbin and Colton King, Anakin and Aurora King, many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, close friends; Tom and Lisa Athey family and the King family.

She is now with her parents, 2 brothers, great nephew, husband, best friend Sandi, many aunts, uncles, cousins and an unborn little girl named Caroline.
