Gary Claris Olson

Gary Claris Olson, 74, a cherished husband, father and grandfather passed into the arms of his Savior on November 28, 2025, at his home in Ham Lake, Minnesota. Born on December 4, 1950, in Vancouver, Washington, Gary's life was marked by an unwavering faith, a generous spirit, and a witty sense of humor that brought laughter to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Claris and Lillie (Curtis) Olson; his son, Dan; brother, Curt; nephew, Joel, and many beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles. 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Peggy; his children, Lisa Hughes (Kirk), Kristy Callies (Larry Forseth), daughter-in-law Sami Rice (Eric), and his grandchildren, Joshua (Lauren), Michael, Jon, Kaitlyn, Emily, Dane, Caleb (Jenna), Abby, James, Miranda, Abraham, and Luke. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Also survived by his sisters Linda (Michael) , Cheryl and brother David (Belinda).

Gary was a man of deep Christian faith. He was generous and kind, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. 

As we celebrate Gary's life and mourn his passing, we take solace in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the confines of earthly struggles, and rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Gary's life was a testament to the hope and strength found in Christ, and his legacy will be remembered by all who were blessed to know him. 

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-5:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Ramsey Fire Station 1, 15050 Armstrong Blvd, Ramsey, MN 55303.
