Gary L. Jensen, age 78, of Cambridge, Minnesota, passed away on March 27, 2026 at Ecumen in North Branch.
He was born on April 5, 1947, in Vermillion, South Dakota to Ivan and Betty (Millage) Jensen.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy and later in the Air Force Reserves. He was active during the Vietnam era and again during Desert Shield, demonstrating a deep sense of duty and commitment to something greater than himself. His military service was an important part of his life, and it stood as a reflection of the strength, discipline, and patriotism that guided him.
Gary found joy in simple pleasures and in the company of those he loved. He especially loved being in the sun and spent much time around the pool in Arizona, where he enjoyed the warmth and relaxation of those moments. He also cherished being outside at Ecumen, where he could enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of the outdoors. Gary loved to drive and travel, and he found happiness in the open road and the experiences that came with it. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold-Em and cribbage, especially when he could share those games with his sons Jerry and Kevin. These times together created memories that will be treasured by his family for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Gary is survived by his wife, Teri Jo; his sons, Jerry Jensen and his wife Melissa Knutzen of Cambridge, and Kevin Jensen and his wife Stacy of Isanti; his stepchildren, Mark Jendro and his wife Lana of Andover, and Kevin Jendro and his wife LaTecia of Richfield; his grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Jensen, Jack, Anne, Karaigan, Ryan and Everett Jendro, Kyle Johnson, and Tyler Holland; his brother, Keith Jensen and his wife Carol of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his sisters, Vicki Fullenkamp and her husband Greg of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dawn Myron of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; his mother-in-law, Shirley Karstens of Cambridge; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
