Eunice "Penny" M. (Butterfield) Junglen

Eunice (Penny) Mildred Junglen (nee Butterfield), 88, of Cambridge, MN joined her daughter, Gabrielle on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Penny was born September 14, 1935 in Beloit WI.  She graduated from Beloit High School in 1953. She married Richard DeLeu and had 2 daughters, who were the joy of her life.  They divorced in 1962. In 1963, she moved to Minneapolis and married Donald Junglen soon after. She became step mother to Cindy and Joel.  She divorced Don in December of 1972 and missed her step kids for many years after.

Penny was a 1978 graduate of St. Catherines College with a major in Medical Transcription. She had many jobs during her working years.  She retired to Eagan MN in 1993 and moved closer to her daughter in Coon Rapids MN in 1997.  Once her great grandson was born in 2001, he was the apple of her eye. She took care of him and his brothers until he was old enough to no longer need a babysitter.  Penny moved to Isanti MN in 2005 and enjoyed her remaining years with her great grandsons.  She moved to GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge MN, with a diagnosis of dementia in December 2016.

Penny was raised in foster care in the 1940’s and 50’s. She is predeceased by her oldest daughter Gabrielle and son-in-law, Leonard Flint. She is survived by daughter Karen (Dennis, Sr) Gangelhoff and grandchildren Donald (Michelle) Jereczek of NH, Christianne Gelhaye of MN, Rachel (Brock) Thorson of MN, Lee Roy Shockency of NM, Jennifer (Nolan) McWright of NM and Dennis Gangelhoff, Jr of MN; great grandchildren Triston Woolley, Devin McWright, Colton Thorson, Aleigha Shockency, Nathan McWright, Kenna Gelhaye, Gavin Thorson, Kaiya Gelhaye, Edward McWright and Lincoln McWright.
