Ellamae Linnea Hanson, known lovingly to many as Ellie, was born on November 18, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and passed from this life on March 29, 2026, in Grace Pointe Crossing, Cambridge, Minnesota, into the everlasting mercy of her Lord and Savior.
Ellie lived a life marked by grace, steadfast faith, and a heart ever inclined toward kindness. She was a Christian woman whose days were shaped by devotion to God, love for her church, family, friends, and a gentle spirit that blessed all who knew her. In her manner, she was selfless, thoughtful, and loving, and these virtues were not merely spoken of her, but seen in the faithful witness of her life. Her goodness was felt in the small and faithful acts by which she served others.
Her work at Ball was but one part of a life well and honorably lived. Yet beyond the duties of labor, Ellie gave of herself in ways one could not measure. She understood that the truest riches are found in the love one shares, the prayers one offers, and the peace one brings to a troubled heart. She carried herself with a humble dignity, and in her company, many found encouragement, laughter, and the gentle assurance that they were remembered and cared for.
Ellie cherished her church and found joy in the fellowship of believers, where her faith was nourished and her spirit refreshed. The house of the Lord was to her a place of refuge and rejoicing, and she held fast to the promises of Scripture with a trusting heart. She also delighted in living on the lake, where the water and the quiet of creation seemed to echo the serenity she so often brought to others. In those peaceful surroundings, she found gladness in the beauty of God’s handiwork and in the simple gifts of each passing day.
She was also known for the tender habit of sending cards, a small gesture that carried great meaning. Through those cards, Ellie extended remembrance, comfort, and affection, making sure that others knew they were not forgotten. She enjoyed playing bingo, a pastime that brought her amusement and companionship. She loved to win so that she could use her tickets at the Bingo Store to get things for others. She liked the pleasure of a scratch-off on occasion. Even in such small enjoyments, there was a brightness about her, for she welcomed life with gratitude.
Those who knew Ellie will remember her as one whose love was steady and sincere. She lived in compassion and in care for others, leaving behind a legacy woven through the hearts she touched.
Her passing leaves a sorrowful silence, yet Christian hope does not end in sorrow. Rather, it looks beyond the veil of earthly life to the promise of resurrection and eternal peace. Ellie now rests in peace with no more pain, no more weariness, and no more parting. Though her journey has ended, the love she gave remains in memory and blesses those who carry her in their hearts.
May those who mourn her be comforted by the sure and holy hope that death is not the final word for the faithful. In the language of faith, Ellie has gone home. In the language of love, she remains near. And in the language of a life well lived, she is remembered with deep gratitude, abiding affection, and reverent praise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Knute and Eleanor (Stanley) Lindmark; husband, Russell Hanson; daughter, LaDawn Wallskog; and sister, Harriet Tyler.
