Eljane M. (Sandberg) Matheson

Eljane Marie Matheson, 101, of Ham Lake passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at her daughter's home in Linwood.

            She was born April 23, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Albert and Jennie (Wanki) Sandberg.  Eljane grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School.  Following high school, she attended St. Paul Bible Institute. 

            On June 14, 1947 she was united in marriage to Wilbur Matheson in Minneapolis. 

            Eljane worked as a bookkeeper for a law firm in Minneapolis for five years and also helped with bookkeeping for Matheson Brothers Plumbing & Heating.

            She enjoyed partaking in bible studies, crocheting, knitting, sewing and drawing.

            Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur.

            Her biggest mission in life was for everyone to know Jesus.

            She is survived by her children Jerry (Sandy) Matheson of Arkansas, Karen (Rick) Krasky Brooten, MN, Loren (Carol) Matheson of North Branch, Renee (Robert) Erickson of Linwood, Ron (Gala) Matheson of Champlin, 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sister Carol Johnson of Motley, brother Maynard Sandberg of Crystal, other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Allina Hospice, nurse Sandy, music therapist Sharon, the Ladies of Linwood Covenant Church by their many cards and visits, her faith friend Sharon Johnson, Linwood Covenant Church and Crossroads Covenant Church.

       Funeral Services 11AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Linwood Covenant Church in Wyoming.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be in Victor Hill Cemetery in Linwood.
