Doris Ingrid Wehrman, 89, of New Brighton, formerly of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Benedictine Health Center at Innsbruck in New Brighton.
She was born October 22, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Elmer and Evie Langren. She grew up in Minneapolis and attended Henry High School. After her schooling, she cared for her siblings at home.
Doris met Darcy Wehrman on a blind date and on December 28, 1950 they were married in Mason City, Iowa. Doris traveled with Darcy while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. They would eventually live in Minneapolis and Circle Pines. In 1977 they moved with their two daughters to their home west of Cambridge. Darcy passed away on July 4, 1981. Doris remained in Cambridge until 1983 when she moved to Minneapolis. She worked in the catering business for several years with a synagogue in the metro area. She lived for a time in Moundsview, Coon Rapids, and the past 5 years in New Brighton.
Doris enjoyed her dogs, her cats and going shopping. She also went on a few cruises with her catering friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Elmer Langren Jr., sisters Pat LaSota, Elaine Cowette, and Eleanor Gulenchyn. Doris survived by her daughters Connie Arkins of Zimmerman, Carol Wallin of New Brighton, three grandchildren Craig (Julie) Browen of Big Lake, Derek Browen of Brooklyn Center, Ashley Wallin of New Brighton, five great grandchildren Dillon, Kira, Madden, Niko and Annabelle.
No services are currently scheduled. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
