Donna J. (Wicklund) Liljeberg-Konnad

Donna Jean Liljeberg-Konnad was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She entered her everlasting home in heaven on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Abbott NW Hospital at age 73, surrounded by her loving supportive family who will continue to honor her legacy.

Donna was born on March 30, 1950, in Braham, MN to Clifford and Elaine (Anderson) Wicklund. They lived in Cambridge, MN until Donna was in the 8th grade, when the family moved to Grantsburg, WI. She graduated from Grantsburg High School in 1968. After high school, she ventured off to Minneapolis and landed a job at First National Bank for a short time. On June 22, 1969, she married Tim Liljeberg at Grace Baptist Church in Grantsburg, WI. The newlywed couple lived in Lakehurst, N.J. before settling in Cambridge after Tim was discharged from the military. In 1972, their son, Nathan, was born. Sadly, Nathan passed away on September 12, 1978.

In 1980, Donna met Tom Konnad. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1992, in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida. Tom and Donna were blessed with a son, Ryan. The family of three made their loving home in Cambridge.

Donna and Tom enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Donna’s favorite trips were to Hawaii and Florida. Many cherished memories were made during their travels. Donna’s favorite “hobby” was shopping. It was always a good day of shopping if she acquired a great find at an incredible price, “Donna Deals,” as coined by her husband Tom. Donna found great joy showering her family and friends with gifts.

Retirement came after working 35 years with the DNR in Cambridge. The simplest pleasures of completing a word find puzzle, spending time with her three grandchildren, camping at Springvale Campground, traveling the U.S. and enjoying a good root beer float brought her great joy. Donna was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Cambridge. Her servant heart inspires us to love deeply, serve others, and to live fully.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; son Nathan Liljeberg; and her sister-in-law Sheila Wicklund.

She will be greatly missed by husband Thomas Konnad of Cambridge, MN; son Ryan (Jenny) Konnad of Mayer, MN; grandchildren Isaac, Lincoln, and Ashley Konnad; siblings Gini (Lowell) Anderson of Cambridge, MN, Dennis Wicklund of Blaine, MN; cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service 1PM, Monday, September 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Cambridge.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  Private Interment in Cambridge Union Cemetery.
