Dolores Bernadette Laugerman (nee Johnson) age 91 of Cambridge, formerly of Brooklyn Park, passed away quietly on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge, MN.
Dolores was born on December 8, 1929 in Duluth, MN. She was the second oldest of twelve children born to Oscar and Hazel Johnson. She lived in Quamba, MN in her early years and later moved to Moose Lake, MN on a farm. In her senior year of high school in 1947, she became the Homecoming Queen. She worked as an aide at the hospital in town. Soon after high school, she moved to the big city of Minneapolis.
Dolores married Glen Howard Laugerman in Charles City, Iowa on February 28, 1949. It was a double wedding with her friends, Hank and Mary Ann Nelson. They moved into an apartment on 3rd floor in Minneapolis and later moved to Crystal, MN. Five children were born to this happy couple. Tyrone, Suzette, Jeffrey, Carey and Lonny. Carey died at a very young age of 18 months. They moved to Bloomington, MN., Bethel Park, PA., then to Lacrosse, WI and eventually moved back to Crystal and Brooklyn Park, MN. While living in Bethel Park, Dolores sang in the choir at church, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority with the neighborhood women. She and Glen were also in a 500 card club. Dolores worked as a laundress at a nursing home in Golden Valley, MN until her retirement.
Glen came down with Ataxia in his late 40’s. Later he needed much care from Dolores until his death in 1990. All three of her remaining sons have Ataxia. She worried and loved each one of them. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren, attending their school activities, sports and dance. She loved watching her sons Tyrone and Lonny at Track and Field running meets, taking pictures of everything she watched.
She will be missed by those who survive her: sons Tyrone (Gail) Laugerman of Pine City, MN., Jeffrey Laugerman of North Branch, MN., Lonny Laugerman of Anoka, MN.; daughter Suzette (Jim) Forrer of Princeton, MN. Grandchildren; Amanda Laugerman, Michelle Laugerman, Trent Laugerman, Dena Forrer, Yvette (Johnny) Hatch, Jaime (Tony) Grant, Brandon (Ashley) Forrer, Ryan Laugerman, and Jasmine (Michael) Snell. Great-grandchildren: Lathan Stenbom, Henri, Cosette, Margaux and Bastien Hatch, Chase and Brynn Grant.
Dolores was welcomed into heaven by her husband Glen, son Carey, parents Oscar & Hazel, siblings Alison, Curtis, Marylou and Michael. Also her dogs, Skippy, Lexi and Liza Mae will be there to greet her with lots of sloppy kisses.
