Dolores M. (Walker) Fisk

Dolores Mae Fisk, 88, of North Branch passed away on April 20, 2023 at Ecumen North Branch Memory Care.

            She was born October 17, 1934 to Claude and Elva (Hines) Walker in Pleasant Prairie Township in Southern Minnesota at the home farm.  She went to school near Taopi, MN at a small country school, then on to high school in Adams, MN where she graduated in 1952.  She went on to further her education to be a Beauty Operator.

            In Taopi, MN is where she met her husband Loren Fisk and on December 5, 1953, they were married in Astoria, Oregon where Loren was stationed in the Navy.  Then they moved back to Southern MN where Loren went to trade school to be a Sheet Metal worker.

            When they were living in St. Charles, MN, their first son Jim was born in 1958.  They then moved to the Twin Cities for more work and in 1960 their second son, Dave was born.  They bought their first home in Bloomington, MN and in 1963, the third son, Danny was born.

            During the time they were in Bloomington, she enjoyed the local garden club and raised African Violets.  She also started doing daycare at home.  They lived there until 1978 when they moved to Phoenix, Arizona for Loren’s health.  In Phoenix, Dolores did daycare for small children, and has kept in touch with many of the families over the years.

            Her husband Loren passed away in 1990 and in 2001, Dolores moved to North Branch, MN to be closer to her family.  In July 2020 she moved from her apartment at Uptown Maple Commons into Ecumen North Branch Memory Care.

            She was preceded in death by parents Claude and Elva Walker, husband Loren and his parents Clarence and Susie Fisk, brother Roger Walker, her in-laws, Virgil Narveson, Edward and Bunny Dobda, Kermit and Ellen Oldre, Margaret Walker, Sharon Smith, nieces Jean Barber and Amy Nicholson.

            Dolores is survived by her sons Jim (Elaine) Fisk of North Branch, Dave (Janet) Fisk of Bloomington, Dan (Anna) Fisk of Holliston, MA, 7 grandchildren Adam (Amy), Caitlyn, Kyle (Elizabeth), Elizabeth (Justin), Angie, Mackenzie, Brenna, 3 great granddaughters Lillian, Lyla, Caroline, sister Lois Narveson, brother Ed (Margarita) Walker, brother-in-law Don Smith, sister-in-law Jeanette (Larry) Petties, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service 1PM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Spring Lake Lutheran Church.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment in the church cemetery.
