Dennis J. Johnson

            Dennis John Johnson, of Dalbo went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the age of 74.

            He was born November 6, 1947 to Ted and Myrtle (Bengston) Johnson in Princeton, Minnesota.  He went to country school district #66 in Dalbo until 8th grade when he attended Princeton High School, graduating in 1965.

            Dennis met the love of his life Veronica Strohmayer on June 24, 1965.  They dated until August 13, 1971 when they received the sacrament of marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Circle Pines, MN   They made their home in Dalbo where they raised three sons, Dennis Edward, Paul Lee, and Norman Bernard. 

            Dennis was a logger for most of his working years, employed by Ratzlaff Logging and Lumber in Princeton.  The last working years of his working day were at Land-O-Lakes Cheese in Dalbo.  Dennis acquired a spinal injury in 2005.  Even though disabled, he maintained his yard and garden, went hunting and cut wood from his wheelchair.  During the time of his disability, he grew closer to Jesus, walked and prayed daily.  He had a warm, kind, caring loving personality.  He enjoyed 50’s and 60’s music, having family, friends and even strangers in for a coffee break.

            He was preceded in death by his parents Edward “Ted” and Myrtle Johnson and brother Gary Johnson.

            Dennis is survived by his wife of 50 years Veronica, three sons Dennis E. Johnson Jr. (friend Kristen) of Dalbo, Paul L. (Cyrena) Johnson of Princeton, Norman B. (Heather) Johnson of Dalbo, 13 grandchildren Ashley, Casey Mae, Deni Lynn, Theodore, Gavin, Parker, Skyler, EmaLynn, Kiernan, Kalista and Lillian, Samantha and Mylee, many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Service 9AM, Friday, July 15, 2022 at Dalbo Baptist Cemetery.  Mass of Christian Burial following the graveside service at 10AM, at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church in  Foreston, MN.
