David Leroy Erlandson, 54, of Pine City, MN, passed away on March 3rd, 2026 in Mora, MN.
David was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Dennis Leroy Erlandson and Patricia Jane (Erlewein) Forster on September 30th, 1971.
David is preceded in death by (Father) Dennis Leroy Erlandson.
David is survived by (Mother) Patricia Jane (Erlewein) Forster, (Sister) Dawn Marie (Erlandson) Drame’, (Daughter) Hope Marie Erlandson, and (Daughter) April Jean (Erlandson) Meuer.
David spent most of his childhood growing up in Duluth, MN. In 1987 he moved to Wyoming, MN, and attended both St. Francis High School and Forest Lake High School. David went on to earn his GED.
David was a roofer with Roofers Union No. 96, and worked most of his career with Berwald Roofing Company.
David married Melissa Gene (Hedberg) Wittmann on October 15th, 1999. They had two children together, Hope Marie Erlandson (24) in 2001, and April Jean (Erlandson) Meuer (23) in 2002.
David loved everything that had to do with the outdoors. He especially loved to hunt, fish, and ride snowmobiles, and four-wheelers. David loved to play softball with his friends, and his daughters. David was adventurous, he spent a lot of time camping, going on hunting or fishing trips, and always had a new project to work on. David was an adrenaline junkie, he loved anything with a motor that went fast. He was spontaneous, and clumsy, always getting himself into trouble.
David loved everyone in his life fiercely, especially his children. David always put others before himself, and gave what he could, whatever season of life; he was extremely generous. David was someone who impacted everyone he met, and made friends anywhere he went. David had a strong moral compass, and always taught others to do what is right. His guidance and wisdom will be deeply missed.
A sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses at Welia Health who took exceptional care of David in his final days, and to Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services for cremation services.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date. More details to come.
