Cindy Lou O'Neil, 69, passed away at her home in Cambridge, MN, surrounded by the love of her family on April 22, 2025. Born on May 26, 1955, in St. Paul, MN. to Marlo and Vivian (Hathaway) Swanson.
Cindy graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1973, and not long after, she decided that life was better in pairs. She married the love of her life, William “Mike” O'Neil, on September 14, 1974. Together, they waltzed through life, from Soderville to Goose Lake to Isanti, to finally retiring in Cambridge in 2018.
Cindy was a woman of many passions. She could often be found with her nose in a book, her hands in the garden, or her eyes glued to a Hallmark mystery. She loved her many cats throughout the years, they made the perfect lap warmers.
Cindy's love extended deeply to her children and grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, offering unwavering support. Whether it was attending their school events, celebrating their achievements, or simply sharing stories and laughter, Cindy's presence was a constant source of comfort and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Marlene Hanson, her beloved husband, William "Mike" O'Neil, her son James “Jim” O'Neil, and her parents-in-law, Bill and Joan O'Neil.
She leaves behind her children Patrick (Vanessa) O'Neil of Andover, Krystie (Tony) LaPre of Webster, WI, and Carl (Jessica) O'Neil of Cambridge; grandchildren, Jay (Emily) O'Neil, Cassandra Tode, Gavin (Rachel) O'Neil, Ally O'Neil, Carley O'Neil (Christian), Courtney Pepin, Alex O'Neil, Gabriela Rotello, Hannah O'Neil, Keegan O'Neil, Bella O'Neil, John O'Neil, Chyanne O'Neil, Stelah O'Neil, Brady O'Neil, and Clint LaPre; great-granddaughter, Colette O'Neil; her siblings, Linda (Michael) Ingalls, Arlen (Cindy) Swanson, Paul Swanson, and Joel (Laurie) Swanson, will all miss her dearly.
A Celebration Gathering will be held at Cindy's home at 1515 32nd Avenue SW, Cambridge on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM
