Cheryl A. Lindgren, 77, of Princeton, MN passed away on March 19, 2026, at Mayo Hospital in Rochester, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 12, 1948, in Rush City, MN, to Arthur and Lois (Johnson) Swanson.
She married the love of her life, Gary Lindgren, on April 20, 1968, at Calvary Lutheran Church of Rush Point. Together, they built a life filled with joy, overcoming challenges with unwavering support for one another.
A graduate of Cambridge High School in 1966, Cheryl's professional life was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She worked at Stratte Drug and Helga's in Cambridge, and Lutheran Brotherhood in Minneapolis. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she became the proud owner of Rum River Sweets in Cambridge and Lindgren's Big Game Processing in Edgewood.
Cheryl's life was a testament to her strength and compassion. Having survived cancer twice, she transformed her personal trials into a mission to help others. Alongside Gary, she dedicated herself to raising funds for the Children's Cancer Research Fund and Make A Wish, hosting golf fundraisers at Grandy Nine Golf Club. Their efforts brought hope and support to countless families facing the unimaginable.
Cheryl and Gary cherished their winters in Mesa, Arizona, where they spent 25 seasons on a golf course, enjoying the warmth and camaraderie of friends. Their love for adventure took them on many motorcycle trips across the United States, from the scenic coasts to the majestic national parks. Cheryl and Gary enjoyed many trips traveling to foreign countries.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Patrick Lindgren; brother, Ronald Swanson, and sister, Susan Johnson.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gary Lindgren; son, Todd (Ashley) Lindgren; grandchildren, Austin and Sophia; sisters, Bonnie Herringshaw and Deb (Rick) Olson; other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service 11AM, Saturday, May 2, 2026 at North Isanti Baptist Church. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in Cambridge Union Cemetery.
