Cecilia Patricia (Pawlowski) Lund

Cecilia Patricia Lund (Pawlowski) age 88 of Coon Rapids, MN formerly of Cambridge, MN passed away peacefully at her residence in Epiphany Assisted Living in Coon Rapids, MN surrounded by her family on June 7, 2024

Cecilia “Cec” was born June 28th, 1935, in Bethel Township, PA. Cec grew up in a coal mining town and graduated from Bethel High school in 1953. She enjoyed basketball and fashion club during High School. Cec also worked cleaning homes with her mother.

On June 11th, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert J Lund in Bethel Park, PA. Their first child Robert Jr was born while in Pennsylvania. In 1965 the family moved to Fargo, ND where their next two children Laurie and Shawn were born.

In 1969 they moved to Coon Rapids and in 1976 moved to Springvale, MN and  eventually Cec and Bob moved to Cambridge around 1987.

Cecilia had many different jobs, from cashier at Walmart, to front desk clerk at a hotel, but her true love was the library. In 1955 she started her career working in libraries as assistant to the Head Librarian at Bethel High School. Cec worked in the media center at Isanti Elementary from September of 1982 to June of 2011. Cec could have retired earlier than the age of 74, but she kept going back because she enjoyed the kids and work so very much.

Cecilia enjoyed gardening, target shooting, singing harmonies with family, raising milking goats, baking pies, canning, volunteering and sewing.

Cec milked and sold goats milk for many years. She sewed outfits for her children growing up, Laurie’s prom dress and a Ghillie suit for Shawn were one of many. She also found enormous joy in food and chocolate. Cec, known as grammy by the grandchildren, would do her “Happy Food Dance” to just about any meal you brought her. The song “Cecelia” was her least favorite song ever recorded.

 Cecilia was persistent, kind, always had a smile for anyone, a love for laughter, and had a nickname for everyone. In the early 1980’s her husband had a significant heart attack, so Cec helped with the manual labor on the farm, and with milking goats, her grip was intense. Cec always greeted you with a soft bright smile and would tell her family “I love you bunches”.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Anna Pawlowski, sisters Thresa, Vera and Rose, husband Robert John Lund Sr. and daughter-in-law Sheri Lund.

Cecilia is survived by her children Robert Jr. (Lori) Lund of Plymouth, MN, Laurie (Phil) Olmon of Nowthen, MN, Shawn (Mary) Lund of Lino Lakes, 10 grandchildren, Zachary Lund, Chelsea Bharani, Ben Lund, Trey Lund, Alexis Lund, Matthew Olmon, Kristen Harder, Joe Behrens, Alex Lund, Kari Lund, plus 10 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30AM, Friday, June 28, 2024 at The Church of the Epiphany,  1900 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids, MN.  Visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment 10AM, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.
