Cathy A. Barker

Cathy A. Barker, 72, of Fridley, MN, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park..

She was born June 16, 1952 to Clifford and Doris (Meyer) Klemenagen. Cathy grew up in Bird Island, MN where she attended school and graduated from high school in 1970.  She went on to attend Mankato State University.  Cathy worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in Willmar and later the Twin Cities.  She also worked for the United States Marshals Service and retired from there.

On September 29, 1990 she was united in marriage to Robert Barker at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bird Island.  They made their home in Fridley and raised their son Taylor.  

Cathy enjoyed sewing, quilting and dancing.  She and Robert did some traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada.  She also liked to listen to polka and old time country music.

She was preceded in death by her parents.  Cathy is survived by her husband Bob of Fridley, son Taylor of Sioux Falls, SD, sisters Joan (Howard) Manthei of Hutchinson, Cheryl (Don) Collins of Delano, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Cambridge Lutheran Church with visitation 1 hour prior.   

Interment 11:00 AM Friday, August 23, 2024 at Cambridge Union Cemetery.
