Carolyn F. Thompson, age 80, of Cambridge, MN, passed away peacefully at Abbott Northwestern Hospital on November 22, 2023. Carolyn was born on January 18, 1943 to Olaf and Gertrude Enerson in Fosston, MN.
Carolyn married Rodney Thompson on August 3, 1963 and have been married for 60 years. They resided in Moorhead, MN and then moved to Harwood, ND. While Rodney worked at the Air National Guard Base in Fargo, Carolyn found work at JCPenney in Fargo. During their time in Fargo, they started their family, bringing two boys into their fold, Brent and Michael. Upon Rodney finishing his degree at Moorhead State University, they moved to the Minneapolis area. Carolyn was able to transfer to the JCPenney store in Northtown. She continued to work there until she found her dream job as a para-professional in the media center at the Anoka-Hennepin School District, retiring in 2003. After her retirement, Carolyn and Rodney moved to Leech Lake, where she enjoyed being on the water or near the lake. She also loved baking treats for family and friends who stopped by to chat. Just recently, Carolyn and Rodney moved back to Cambridge to be closer to their family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Enerson.
She is survived by her husband Rodney and sons Brent (Julie), and Michael, grandchildren JaLisa (Garrett) Fiorito, Samantha (Landen) Buchman, Lindsay (Brandon) Kasperbauer and Drake Thompson and great-grandchildren Kinley Buchman, Kiera Kasperbauer, Sophie Asche, Kolten Buchman and Kellen Kasperbauer and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
